Ayurvedic health coach | London NW1

Ayurvedic healthcare means living in accordance with your unique elemental nature, choosing the foods, habits, herbs and yoga practices that best suit your personal balance of earth, water, fire, wind and space. When these underlying energies become imbalanced is when we get ill. Ayurvedic health coach Jacqui Gibbons creates a personalised health plan to correct this and help you thrive, using the healing power of plants and prana.
In a consultation, Jacqui first uses Ayurvedic diagnostic techniques such as pulse reading, tongue analysis and careful listening and observation to assess and help you understand your unique mind/body type, and the imbalance that is causing your health issues. She then develops a personalised plan using natural healing modalities including food, herbal medicines, warm oil massage, pranayama (breathing techniques) and seasonal cleansing programmes.
Jacqui has a warm, supportive and practical approach, and honours your individuality and unique heatlh needs. She can relate to the pressures busy working women face as she has had a long career in media, and is very pragmatic! She has eight years' experience successfully treating London professionals for weight gain, constipation, bloating, IBS, IBD and many digestive issues, PMS, fatigue, anxiety, skin conditions, type II diabetes and other health issues. She has helped numerous clients who found modern medicine's symptoms-only, non-holistic treatments unsuccessful, as well as many who didn't have an illness but knew they weren't thriving. She trained in 2007-09 with leading Ayurvedic physicians and teachers Atreya Smith and Dr Sunil Joshi, She is also a trainee yoga teacher on triyoga's two-year programme (2017-19).
Ayurveda is lifestyle medicine. For thousands of years, it has used what you eat and how you live as its key healing modalities – and the way to be healthy and prevent disease in the first place. Modern medicine is coming to this same realisation that how we live affects our health. But Ayurveda goes deeper than the modern approach: it shows us how to live in the way that suits our unique mind/body type, that's personalised to our own DNA, rather than one-size-fits-all advice.
Ayurvedic medicine can't be reduced to a vitamin tablet or the latest 'superfood'. Just popping a pill – even a herbal one – is not the answer. Instead, our underlying energy pattern, or prana, is the foundation of our health. Rebalancing our mind, body, emotions and underlying energy is the way back to health. Jacqui's goal for you is vibrant health and happiness at all levels of your being: not just physical but mental, emotional and spiritual too.
